FLICKr BLOG

It's not everyday that I take the time to say I really like something on this blog. But tonight, I've opted to put down my book, take a timeout from the State of the Union, and tell you that I really like something.

I like pictures - taking them, looking at them, and one day collecting old pics (I say 'one day' because I haven't started yet). Today, I would like to pat Flickr's Blog on the back for a blog well done. They post pictures that are sick and I like sick pictures.

unChristian

A couple years ago I started reading the book, unChristian but lost interest. It's based on research by Barna Group and has several dry spurts, which regardless of the book - dry spurts put me to sleep. However, I've had a resurgence of motivation to read. I once heard David Gergen (a smart guy) explain the need to read in order to develop and boost your leadership capacity. Today, I decided to attempt to read this book in 1.5 weeks to hopefully improve my ignorance of young Americans impression of Christians. This is a quote from one such young American found in Ch.1...

"Christianity has become bloated with blind followers who would rather repeat slogans than actually feel true compassion and care. Christianity has become marketed and streamlined into a juggernaut of fearmongering that has lost its own heart."

I'll keep you updated on how it goes this week.

On June 16, 1903, the Ford Motor Company was established. It has produced some fantastic vehicles including this gem seen at the Boerne Rod Run.

I would have loved to live in the days of what are now called classic cars and barber shops. It just seems like a good fit for me.

This picture was taken at the Boerne Rod Run which is an annual event that turns up hundreds of people and tons for hot rods/classic cars.
